St. Paul & The Broken Bones Perform Live On KEXP

69

St. Paul and The Broken Bones delivered an in-studio performance at Seattle independent radio station KEXP earlier this month. The band played four cuts from their 2022 studio album, The Alien Coast, as well as a song from 2018’s Young Sweet Camellia.

The session took place on May 3 before the group’s second of two shows at Seattle’s Neptune Theatre. St. Paul & The Broken Bones featuring vocalist Paul Janeway, bassist Jesse Phillips, guitarist Browan Lollar, keyboardist Al Gamble, drummer Kevin Leon, trumpeter Allen Branstetter saxophonist Amari Ansari and trombonist Chad Fisher opened with a medley of The Alien Coast tracks “3000 AD Mass” and “The Last Dance.”

The Birmingham, Alabama-based soul outfit stuck with The Alien Coast for “Minotaur” and “Love Letter From A Red Roof Inn.” Janeway then led his mates through a powerful “Apollo” to close out the set.
