Tame Impala and Diana Ross released their collaborative single “Turn Up The Sunshine.” The song is set for the Minions: The Rise Of Gru soundtrack arriving on July 1 via Decca.
The Rise Of Gru soundtrack features an impressive list of artists covering 1970s classics including St. Vincent doing Lipps Inc.’s “Funkytown,” Thundercat on Steve Miller Band’s “Fly Like An Eagle,” Phoebe Bridgers covering The Carpenters’ “Goodbye to Love” and more. Renowned producer and musician Jack Antonoff curated and produced the new Minions soundtrack.

Diana Ross, Tame Impala, Thundercat & More Appear On New ‘Minions’ Soundtrack
Diana Ross and Tame Impala’s “Turn Up The Sunshine” appears on the ‘Minions: The Rise Of Gru’ soundtrack along with covers contributed by Thundercat, St. Vincent and more.
The long-awaited collaboration from Tame Impala (Kevin Parker) and Diana Ross was initially thought to appear on Ross’s 2021 album Thank You, her first in 15 years, but instead landed on the Minions soundtrack. Although among one of the few original songs — composed by Parker, Antonoff and others — on the 1970s cover-centric soundtrack, “Turn Up The Sunshine” has a ‘70s disco-funk vibe and also features bass from Earth Wind & Fire’s Verdine White.
