Ty Segall released a new single, “Saturday Pt. 2.” The track will appear on the singer-songwriter and guitarist’s upcoming album, Hello, Hi, arriving via Drag City on July 22.
Segall previewed Hello, Hi in April with the title track. The latest offering from the forthcoming LP, “Saturday Pt. 2,” “concludes a mini-suite that forms the penultimate movement of Hello, Hi,” as per press materials for the new single, and features saxophone from longtime collaborator Mikal Cronin.
The press release further detailed “Saturday Pt. 2”:
Fuzz-free guitars roll forth, ringing with consonance and humble purpose. Ty’s reassuring murmur leads the way until Mikal Cronin’s elegant saxophone throws open the windows, losing joy, hysteria and all the other simple pains and pleasures that have sat behind closed doors for so long. It’s a slow-roiling escape-anthem, finally sighting what’s been missing and wished-upon for what seems like forever: the time we find to play, the magical expanse of Saturday.
