Watch Ryan Gosling Take On A Crazed Chris Evans In Epic ‘The Gray Man’ Trailer

Ryan Gosling is using grenades, battle rifles, handguns and assassin skills to take on a psychotic Chris Evans in the trailer for Netflix’s most expensive original movie ever, The Gray Man.

Based on a novel by Mark Greaney, the mega-budget action-thriller appears to put the stars in a classic adversarial relationship surrounded by explosions, gunfights, car chases, and cheeky lines such as the villainous, “You wanna make an omelette? You’ve gotta kill some people.” See the official synopsis below:

The Gray Man is CIA operative Court Gentry (Gosling), aka, Sierra Six. Plucked from a federal penitentiary and recruited by his handler, Donald Fitzroy (Billy Bob Thornton), Gentry was once a highly skilled, Agency-sanctioned merchant of death. But now the tables have turned and Six is the target, hunted across the globe by Lloyd Hansen (Evans), a former cohort at the CIA, who will stop at nothing to take him out. Agent Dani Miranda (Ana de Armas) has his back. He’ll need it.

According to Deadline, the summer action-thriller spent a budget of $200 million-plus. A lot of well-earned faith has been put in directors/brothers Joe and Anthony Russo, who’ve previously helmed Marvel’s Captain America and Avengers blockbusters. 2019’s Avengers: Endgame previously set the all-time global box office record at $2.797 billion, but was overtaken after re-screenings of James Cameron’s 2010 sci-fi epic Avatar in 2021.

“The movie is a real mano a mano between those two great actors who represent two different versions of the CIA, in what it can be, and what it can do,” Anthony Russo told Deadline. “For those who were fans of Captain America: Winter Soldier, this is us moving into that territory in more of a real-world setting. That’s what this movie really means for us.”

Also starring Rege-Jean Page, Jessica Henwick, Dhanush, Wagner Moura and Alfre Woodard, The Gray Man hits Netflix on July 22.
