Foo Fighters Reveal Los Angeles Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert Initial Lineup

Foo Fighters and The Hawkins Family announced the first wave of artists joining for the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert at Kia Forum in Los Angeles on Tuesday, September 27 including Miley Cyrus, Joan Jett, The Police’s Stewart Copeland and Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson of Rush. The initial L.A. lineup came just hours after the first wave of artists for the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert at Wembley Stadium in London on September 3 was confirmed.

Both concerts come in honor of longtime Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins. Taylor died on March 25 at age 50 while Foo Fighters were on tour in Bogotá, Colombia. Hawkins’ surviving bandmates will perform with illustrious lineups featuring the full support of Taylor’s family.

Hawkins’ big break came in 1995, when Alanis Morissette tapped Taylor to tour the world as her drummer in support of Jagged Little Pill. Morissette will perform at Kia Forum on September 27. Brian May, Roger Taylor, Gene Simmons, Nikki Sixx, Chad Smith, Chris Chaney, Omar Hakim, Josh Homme, Luke Spiller, Rufus Taylor, Jon Theodore, Wolfgang Van Halen, Brad Wilk and Pat Wilson round out the first wave of the Los Angeles lineup. Plus, Taylor’s Chevy Metal bandmates will make a special appearance.

Stay tuned for additional lineup announcements. Tickets go on sale this Friday, June 17 at 9 a.m. PT. Purchase tickets for the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert in Los Angeles via Ticketmaster. Proceeds from both concerts will benefit charities selected by the Hawkins family with more details forthcoming.
