Kikagaku Moyo Adds New Shows To Final North American Tour

62

Kikagaku Moyo has further bolstered the band’s final North American tour with four newly added dates. The concerts include two new stops in California as well as second shows added in Portland, OR and New York City.

Over on the West Coast, the Japanese psychedelic outfit will play new concerts at the Rio Theatre in Santa Cruz on September 24th and the Castro Theatre in San Francisco on the 25th. Those new dates will close out the band’s California run and lead into a newly added show at the Aladdin Theatre in Portland, OR, followed the next evening by a sold-out show at Portland’s Crystal Ballroom.

After a couple more Pacific Northwest shows in Seattle, WA (9/29) and Vancouver, BC (9/30); Kikagaku Moyo will head to the East Coast for the final time. The band has added a new show at Brooklyn Steel on October 5th before its final North American concert on October 6th at the same venue.

Tickets for the new Kikagaku Moyo shows in Santa Cruz, San Francisco, Portland, and Brooklyn go on sale on June 3rd with times varying by venue.

Kikagaku Moyo announced back in January that the band will go on indefinite hiatus following a final global tour. Last month, the band released what it called “our very last album,” Kumoyo Island.

“We have come to the conclusion that because we have truly achieved our core mission as a band, we would love to end this project on the highest note possible,” the band wrote in January. “Since first starting as a music collective on the streets of Tokyo in 2012, we never, ever imagined being able to play all over the world for our amazing audiences. It is all because of you that this was ever possible…and to this we are eternally grateful.”
