Levitation returns with an initial 2022 lineup headlined by The Jesus and Mary Chain and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. The four-day music festival will feature performances at various venues in downtown Austin, Texas venues over Halloween weekend, October 27 – 30.
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard will play two nights at Levitation 2022 while Osees are aboard for shows on all four nights. Festival founders The Black Angels are also back. Additional Levitation performers include Os Mutantes, W.I.T.C.H., Moon Duo, L7, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Viagra Boys, Shame, Cold Cave and many others.
The Black Angels founded the event as Austin Psych Fest in 2008. In 2015, the festival hosted a performance from The 13th Floor Elevators in honor of the band’s 50th anniversary and was renamed Levitation as a tribute to the group.
