Lindsay Lou Details ‘You Thought You Knew’ EP & Shares Single

Lindsay Lou returns with You Thought You Knew, an EP set for release on July 22. The Nashville-based singer-songwriter previewed the set by unveiling its lead single, “Don’t Go Back.”

Lou tapped Dave O’Donnell (James Taylor) to produce You Thought You Knew. The songs on the EP were written by Lindsay during the pandemic at her home on Petaway Avenue in Nashville and she enlisted a number of her musical friends to contribute to sessions held at East Nashville’s Forty-One Fifteen studios.

“I pulled in some of my favourite new acoustic musicians in Nashville, all of whom are close friends that I’ve been running into at house parties and jams around town since I moved here from Michigan in 2015,” Lindsay Lou told Holler, the outlet that premiered “Don’t Go Back.” Sadly, Lindsay will soon move from her home as it has been sold with housing prices throughout Music City in overdrive.

Lindsay Lou is joined on “Don’t Go Back” by bassist Ethan Jodziewicz, fiddler Maya De Vitry and mandolinist Dominic Leslie. Additionally, percussion comes from PJ George III with Anthony Da Costa singing harmony vocals and Alex Bice on triangle and bass drum.

“I wrote this during a writing retreat at home,” the Michigan native revealed about “Don’t Go Back” to Holler. “I woke to begin the 12-hour endeavour to a text message from a friend who said he had a dream that I was singing a song to him, and the only part he could remember was the line ‘Don’t Go Back.’” Stream “Don’t Go Back” here:
