Pigeons Playing Ping Pong Welcome Goose’s Peter Anspach At Bonnaroo

53

Goose keyboardist/guitarist Peter Anspach sat in with Pigeons Playing Ping Pong during their appearance at Bonnaroo. Anspach joined PPPP about halfway through their late night set at That Tent.

Pigeons got things popping with “Pop Off” before embarking on a three-song seamless section beginning with “Melting Lights” followed by “Offshoot.” The latter encompassed a cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Kashmir,” which boasted a Grateful Dead “Slipknot!” tease along with elements of Zeppelin’s “Moby Dick” and “Heartbreaker.”

After “Sir Real,” Anspach emerged to add keys to “Water.” Anspach recently sat in with Pigeons during their Dome Fest event in May and performed at Bonnaroo with Goose the night previous.

PPPP then went it alone for standalone versions of “Horizon” and “Bad For You.” Next, the quartet n headed through a “Poseidon” > “One More Time” > “Poseidon” segment. After “Avalanche,” Pigeons presided over a “Happy Roo Year” performance of “Auld Lang Syne” to cap off their late night excursion.
