Sacred Rose Midnight Garden Series: Umphrey’s McGee, Europe ‘72 Tribute & More

Organizers of the inaugural Sacred Rose festival announced The Midnight Garden Series, four intimate concerts to be held in Chicago surrounding the festival. Umphrey’s McGee, White Denim and Dawes will each perform as part of the series which also features an all-star concert celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Grateful Dead’s Europe ’72 tour.

The action starts on Thursday, August 25, one day before the three-day festival begins on the SeatGeek Stadium Campus in Bridgeview, Illinois. Thalia Hall will host a Europe ’72 celebration featuring Eric Krasno, Ross James, Ric Robertson, Aron Magner, Alex Koford and “some very special guests to be announced.” Additionally, Chicago’s own Umphrey’s McGee will return to the intimate The Vic Theatre on August 25 for their first concert at the venue since December 29, 2009.

Official Afterparties will be held at Chop Shop with White Denim performing on Saturday, August 27 and Dawes taking the stage at the small venue on Sunday, August 28. While the festival wraps at midnight, the late night performances will go into the a.m. hours. The announcement includes word a late night show may or may not be added for Friday, August 26.
