Twiddle shared the studio version of “River Drift.” The song is the fourth and final pre-release single from the Vermont-based quartet’s forthcoming studio album, Every Last Leaf.
Produced by Clint Bierman, Every Last Leaf is set to arrive via No Coincidence Records on August 12. The 15-track follow-up to the multi-volume 2017 Plump releases was recorded throughout 2021. Twiddle previously previewed the LP with singles “Beautiful,” “The Devil” featuring John Popper and “Distance Makes The Heart” featuring Anders Beck.
“River Drift” was penned by Twiddle frontman Mihali and first played live at solo shows before Twiddle debuted the full-band version at the Adirondack Independence Music Festival in Lake George, New York on August 1, 2018. “‘River Drift’ is about honoring and being there for the people that you love while they are still with you. The song is also about honoring the friendship and impact they had on your life once they are gone,” explained Mihali. “I think we can all agree that it is easier to bear life’s hardships and struggles when good people are at your side.”
