Billy Strings revealed the theme for his upcoming Halloween Weekend concerts in Asheville will be “Away From The Shire.” The Lord Of The Rings-focused performances will take place at ExploreAsheville.com Arena between October 29 and 31.
The announcement came today on the anniversary of J.R.R. Tolkien publishing The Fellowship Of The Ring — the first volume of three The Lord Of The Rings books — on July 29, 1954. “Away From The Shire” combines both the region of Middle-earth dreamed up by Tolkien (The Shire) and the title of a Billy Strings original featured on his Grammy-winning 2019 album Home (“Away From The Mire”).
Tickets for Billy Strings’ Asheville shows are sold out. This year’s run follows a Wizard Of Oz-themed three-night stand presented by Billy and his band at the same venue on October 29 – 31, 2021.
