DOMi & JD Beck Make Late-Night TV Debut With Help From Anderson .Paak On ‘Kimmel’ [Watch]

DOMi & JD Beck made their TV debut on Monday night with a Jimmy Kimmel Live performance alongside Anderson .Paak, their collaborator and outspoken supporter whose APESHIT label will host their debut LP, NOT TIGHT, out July 29th.

Following an intro by guest host Dana Carvey, the cameras panned to a stage adorned with pastel flowers and natural greenery, lit in yellow and green hues with .Paak at center stage flanked by JD Beck on drums to his right and DOMi Louna on keys to his left. With their rendition of “Take A Chance”, the third single from the forthcoming NOT TIGHT, they succinctly showcased the two young players’ versatile virtuosity alongside .Paak’s tried and true showmanship.

As they swayed from smooth, jazzy hip-hop to sing-along R&B slow jam on a breeze of technical yet restrained instrumentation behind .Paak’s raps, the jazz prodigies showed their ability to slide into whatever style suits them at the moment. When Andy gave them a proper intro and unhooked their proverbial leashes at the very end, the pair proceeded to give the national viewing audience a taste of the confounding jazz chops that have made them a global sensation even before of their first full album’s release.
