George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic stopped by The Fillmore in Philadelphia, PA Thursday as part of the ongoing One Nation Under A Groove Tour. The concert also featured sets from The Floozies and Pimps of Joytime.
The latest extension of the One Nation Under A Groove Tour kicked off this spring and has featured some of today’s top funk acts alongside funk-rock pioneers George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic. Recent shows have included support from The Motet and Dopapod. Thursday was the first and only show of the tour to feature the tripartite combination of The Floozies, Pimps of Joytime, and George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic.
George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic’s set included familiar favorites like Funkadelic‘s “One Nation Under A Groove” and the Parliament classic “Flashlight”. The band also played some deeper cuts including George Clinton’s “(Not Just) Knee Deep”, “Dirty Queen”, and a medley of other songs off of Funkadelic’s First Ya Gotta Shake the Gate.
