Lucius stopped by KEXP a couple of weeks ago to perform songs from their new album, Second Nature. The session at the Seattle independent radio station also included an interview with the group’s co-leaders, Holly Laessig and Jess Wolfe.
Laessig and Wolfe were joined by drummer Dan Molad, guitarist Peter Lalish, bassist Solomon Dorsey and guitarist/keyboardist Alex Pfender. The set began with Second Nature song “24.” The vocalists then led their bandmates through fellow album tracks, “The Man I’ll Never Find” and “Promises.”
The pair of singers then picked up matching sparkling keytars for the session’s finale, the Second Nature single, “Next To Normal.” After the performance, Laessig and Wolfe stuck around to discuss the album, which was co-produced by Dave Cobb Brandi Carlile and came out in April, with KEXP’s Cheryl Waters.
