Red Hot Chili Peppers busted out “She’s Only 18” on Friday at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The quartet’s first performance of the funky song from 2006’s Stadium Arcadium since June 23, 2017 came early in the evening at RCHP’s Bay Area concert.
Vocalist Anthony Kiedis, guitarist John Frusciante, bassist Flea and drummer Chad Smith went heavy on tunes off Stadium Arcadium last night including “She’s Only 18.” The band is in the midst of a two-year world tour in support of their recently released studio album, Unlimited Love. A second 2022 album, Return Of The Dream Canteen, arrives on October 14.
Red Hot Chili Peppers started Friday’s concert with a jam that gave way to “Can’t Stop” off 2002’s By The Way. The four-piece then pulled “Dani California” from Stadium Arcadium before returning to By The Way for “Universally Speaking.” Up next was “These Are The Ways,” one of four Unlimited Love tracks to make the setlist at Levi’s Stadium.
“These place is fucking cool,” exclaimed Flea following “These Are The Ways” before adding, “I’m so fucking happy to see everyone of you out there. We are deeply grateful and savoring every fucking nanosecond of this.” Chad Smith and Flea then began the first “She’s Only 18” in over five years. Frusciante hadn’t performed the song publicly with the band since August 26, 2007 and made the most of his ferocious solo.

Additional Stadium Arcadium cuts “Snow ((Hey Oh)),” “Hey,” “Wet Sand” and “Tell Me Baby” came soon after “She’s Only 18,” while Unlimited Love was represented by “Aquatic Mouth Dance,” “Whatchu Thinkin’” and “Black Summer” along with the aforementioned “These Are The Ways.” RHCP went with oldies to end the set as the trifecta of “Nobody Weird Like Me,” “Californication” and “Give It Away” concluded the 16-song frame. The quartet said farewell with an encore featuring hits “Soul To Squeeze” and “By The Way.”
The tour continues on Sunday at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
