The Ries Brothers are back today with the hard-hitting new single “Corner Store.” The song is featured on the pair’s self-titled EP, which is set to arrive on August 26.
Older brother 26-year-old Charlie Ries sings while playing drums and keys on “Corner Store,” which features 23-year-old Kevin Jordan Ries on guitar. The Ries Brothers’ sound continues to evolve with their new track showing off a hard-nosed, blues-rock edge. Charlie and Kevin enlisted Gary Clark Jr.’s original engineer and drummer to produce and engineer The Ries Brothers. The EP includes a track featuring G. Love and Cas Haley.
“We’ve spent the past year writing, recording, growing, learning, discovering and defining our sound,” wrote The Ries Brothers regarding their upcoming EP. “We’ve never been more proud of the music we’re making and we cannot wait to finally share it. Although we’ve released music in the past, in many ways this feels like our debut, because we are just getting started.”
The Ries Brothers filmed the “Corner Store” video with director Jeff Pliskin at The Floridian in their hometown of St. Petersburg. The video was displayed during the encore break of the pair’s concert at The Floridian two weeks after the shoot. Fittingly, the duo played “Corner Store” to start the encore.
