Little Feat released an animated video for their classic song “Spanish Moon” in anticipation of the upcoming super deluxe edition of their iconic 1978 live album Waiting For Columbus due out on July 29 via Rhino Records. The new video features previously unreleased audio of “Spanish Moon” captured at Washington D.C.’s Lisner Auditorium on August 10, 1977.
The previously unheard 1977 Lisner show is set to appear on the Waiting For Columbus: Super Deluxe Edition. Little Feat is currently touring around the box set and in celebration of the 45th anniversary of the 1977-recorded live double LP.
The new animated video boasting audio from the 1977 Washington D.C. concert was produced and directed by Lake & Pine (Eric Kassel & Peter Hilgendorf) and also contains photos from an August 1977 show in London which will also appear on the super deluxe edition. “This new video uses stop-motion animation and previously unseen images from the band’s run of shows at London’s The Rainbow in August 1977 to create a truly surreal atmosphere to match the swamp funk groove of this classic track,” as per a post on Little Feat social media.
