The Allman Family Revival tour returns for a coast-to-coast trek featuring 18 tour dates honoring the life and music of Gregg Allman this fall. The lineup includes The Devon Allman Project, Duane Betts, , Maggie Rose and more.
Devon Allman, the son of late The Allman Brothers Band co-founder Gregg Allman, first presented the tribute to his dad as a guest-filled concert in San Francisco on December 8, 2017. What began as a single-night affair turned into a multi-city tour the next year and continues to expand leading to the 2022 excursion. “My favorite part is just the joy of the audience. I can tell they are touched and getting every penny’s worth,” Devon Allman stated in a press release. “Knowing Dad is looking down saying, ‘Damn, son, all that hot jammin’ for me?!’ I know he’s tickled that we celebrate him.”
Each concert will feature The Devon Allman Project, Duane Betts, Donavan Frankenreiter, Maggie Rose, Larry McCray, Jimmy Hall, Alex Orbison and The River Kittens. Luther and Cody Dickinson, George Porter Jr., G. Love, Ivan Neville and Samantha Fish will each participate in select dates. Additionally, special guests George Porter Jr. & Runnin’ Pardners, Dumpstaphunk and The Samantha Fish Band will open in select cities.
The tour starts in the ABB home city of Macon, Georgia on November 26. A swing through Florida follows with stops in Clearwater (November 27), Sarasota (November 28), Pompano Beach (November 29) and Jacksonville (November 30). The Allman Family Revival continues in the Northeast for concerts in New York City (December 2); Boston (December 3) and Torrington, Connecticut (December 4).
Next up is a trip to North Carolina for dates in Charlotte (December 6) and Durham (December 7). From there, The Allman Family Revival will hit Montgomery, Alabama (December 8); Nashville (December 9); St. Louis (December 10); Denver (December 12); Phoenix (December 14); Las Vegas (December 15) and Los Angeles (December 16) before concluding at The Fillmore in San Francisco (December 17).
