Hometown Bar-B-Que‘s Summer Concert Series returns to the Industry City Band Shell in Brooklyn’s Sunset Park with upcoming performances by DJ Logic and Friends featuring Billy Martin and the Trey Anastasio Band horns, Midnight Ramble Band, and more.
Having already hosted shows including Club d’Elf and Lizzie & The Makers, the series will continue Saturday, August 13th with Murderers’ Row performing the music of The Pretenders and the Faces. Murderers’ Row is a collective of New York City’s top musicians featuring Mike Fornatale (The Left Banke, Losers’ Lounge), Lizzie Edwards (Lizzie & The Makers, Losers’ Lounge), Charly Roth (Ozzy Osbourne), Rembert Block, Erica Smith, Tom Shad, Russell Alderson, Tommy DeVitom, Cid Scantlebury, JJ Jordan, and Dave Foster.
DJ Logic and Friends will perform the following night, Sunday, August 14th. The one-of-kind super-jam will feature a lineup including drummer Billy Martin, James Casey, Natalie Cressman, and Jennifer Hartswick (a.k.a. the Trey Anastasio Band Horns), Jamie Shields and Dan Kurtz from The New Deal, and Ross Bellenoit from Muscle Tough.
Then, on Thursday, August 18th, Midnight Ramble Band will hit the Industry City Band Shell. Fronted by Amy Helm, the band also features Larry Campbell, Teresa Williams, Jim Weider, Connor Kennedy, Tony Leone, Shawn Pelton, Brian Mitchell, Adam Minkoff, Steven Bernstein, Jay Collins, and Erik Lawrence. Born out of Levon Helm‘s fabled Midnight Ramble events, the Midnight Ramble Band has preserved and furthered Levon’s legacy for nearly two decades by presenting the legendary songbook of Levon Helm and The Band.
Finally, on Saturday, September 24th, the series will conclude with a double bill featuring ’70s-style jazz-rock fusion group Flight 467 and feel-good, jammed-out yacht rock band Summerfeet. The event description also mentions that “If you get here on time, you may even be treated to a surprise set to get things going.”
