Brandi Carlile will celebrate the release of her new deluxe album, In The Canyon Haze with a live performance that will be screened at 100 IMAX theatres across the country. Brandi Carlile: In The Canyon Haze – Live From Laurel Canyon will be broadcast live from a site overlooking Los Angeles’ historic Laurel Canyon neighborhood on the deluxe album’s release day, September 28 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT with tickets on sale now via imax.com.
In The Canyon Haze is comprised of Laurel Canyon-inspired reworks of every song from Carlile’s 2021 studio album, In These Silent Days, as well as a cover of David Bowie’s “Space Oddity.” Brandi Carlile produced the new, deluxe version of In These Silent Days with the twins, Phil and Tim Hanseroth. Recorded at their home barn studio, In The Canyon Haze arrives via Low Country Sound/Elektra Records on September 28.
The IMAX screening will mark the first time Carlile and her band will perform the reworked tunes featured on In The Canyon Haze. “Some very special guests” are expected to participate. Brandi tapped Sam Wrench (Billie Eilish, Mary J. Blige) to direct the one-night-only IMAX Live concert. Read a note from Brandi about the livestream coming to IMAX theatres:
“I’ve made a terrifying and beautiful commitment to livestream a complete performance of my new project In the Canyon Haze to IMAX theatres across the country. The music and harmonies are complex and lush…anything could happen. You will hear these songs like you’ve never heard them before and I expect that it’ll be one of the most potent and welcome challenges of my career to bring this to you in such stark detail. Live is live. Rock and roll is a risk and I’m HERE for it!
Together, with our incredibly talented director Sam Wrench, we hope to deliver an enhanced and intimate cinematic experience that hasn’t been attempted before. Along with my band and some very special guests, I’m going to be performing In The Canyon Haze in its entirety, set against the fertile ground of Laurel Canyon and the music scene that inspired this reimagined album.
