CARM Shares ‘More & More’ Single Featuring Edie Brickell

32

CARM, the project led by yMusic trumpeter CJ Camerieri, shared a pair of new singles, “More And More” and “Essex Girl.” “More And More” features Edie Brickell and both tracks are set to land on Camerieri’s upcoming album CARM II, due out on October 21 via 37d07d.

CARM II follows Camerieri’s 2021 self-titled effort, adding to his solo catalog to go along with work for Sufjan Stevens, Bon Iver’s Jake Vernon and Brickell’s husband Paul Simon. Produced by Ryan Olson (Gayngs, Poliça, Lizzo), CARM II centers around Camerieri’s trumpet stylings, something CJ wanted to champion. “I found the lack of horn-based music surprising when there’s so much music being made,” the horn player stated.

Camerieri teamed up with Edie to pen CARM II’s “More And More.” Brickell, Camerieri and his bandmate Trever Hagen decamped to Montauk on Long Island to film the accompanying video for the track, which also contains contributions from violist Nadia Sirota and bassist Jim Anton.

“CJ’s trumpet melodies and phrases inspired ‘More and More,’” Brickell noted. “I just listened to him and followed his lead, trusted what came to mind, and sang it. It all flowed from his music.”

“More And More” arrived along with “Essex Girl.” The latter contains contributions from Kristian Matsson (The Tallest Man on Earth) on guitar and banjo, bassist Cole Davis, drummer Sean Carey, violinist Tim Fain and cellist Gabe Cabezas.
