CashorTrade is helping fans beat scalpers by partnering directly with bands like Phish, Billy Strings, Goose, and more for ticket releases. The latest venture from the fan-to-fan social ticketing platform was the launch of a new service called CashorTrade Ticket Drops, a tool within the fan exchange that leverages anti-scalper technology to help artists distribute tickets directly to their real fans for sold-out high-profile concerts.

The Vermont-based company started by brothers and longtime fans Brando and Dusty Rich rolled out the Ticket Drop program earlier this summer. Ahead of Phish’s first-ever four-night run at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, CO over Labor Day weekend, CashorTrade released a batch of tickets. Per Pollstar, the platform did the same for Tyler Childers‘ upcoming Red Rocks Amphitheatre shows and on September 28th at 12 p.m. ET will release tickets to Billy Strings’ sold-out Halloween run in Asheville, NC, dubbed Away From The Shire.

“Working directly with artists and their management has snowballed and we have doubled the team since the pandemic while building our partnership division,” Brando said. “Working with management helps us provide more tickets to the fans as we build the face value movement.”

Since its formation in 2009, CashorTrade has garnered half a million registered users on the website, app, and within social networks. The company employs 20 music lovers and will begin raising capital this fall to scale the business and launch a next-generation app. Recent CashorTrade partnerships also include FloydFest, Summer Meltdown, Northwest String Summit, Northlands Music & Arts Festival, Domefest, Harvest Moon Crush, and Pink Moon Crush, as well as artists like Little Feat and podcast network Osiris Media.

“It’s an amazing and exciting time for live music and CashorTrade. With the pandemic behind us, a new app in the works and partnerships in full swing the sky’s the limit,” Brando added. “Mobile ticketing technology is changing the space, and we are integrating features to make transferring tickets seamless. We are honored to be a part of the community. We help build the app, but it is the fans that make CashorTrade what it is. We are extremely grateful and excited for a healthy new year of live events. See you on tour. Embrace the Face!”
