Elvis Costello will perform the music of Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter and guitarist Jerry Garcia at a pair of “Elvis Sings Hunter-Garcia” benefit concerts at San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall on September 30. Proceeds from the shows with start times at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. go towards Prader-Willi Homes Of California, “a nonprofit that helps establish and support residential living for individuals with Prader-Willi syndrome.”

GA tickets went on sale yesterday and sold out for the early show. Limited tickets for the 10 p.m. concert remain. Purchase “Elvis Sings Hunter-Garcia” tickets via SeeTickets.us. Special VIP seating for both performances can be purchased upon email request to [email protected].

Costello’s shows at GAMH come in addition to his appearance on the afternoon of Friday, September 30 at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. Elvis’ band for the Hunter/Garcia tributes will feature Larry Campbell, Teresa Williams, Ruth Davies, Paul Revelli and Austin deLone.

“We are so lucky to have Elvis as a friend and adviser to Prader-Willi Homes of California,” PWHC Executive Director Austin de Lone said in a press release. “This is a momentous occasion, as we have purchased our first home and are making the final push to fund renovations and give our first residents the specialized care they and their families have been dreaming of. The overwhelming requests for placement in this first house reinforces the importance of PWHC’s mission to purchase and support the multiple homes for the large number of California residents with PWS who lack the kind of housing they need.”
