Hand Habits shared two new songs, “Greatest Weapon” and “Under The Water,” as part of Psychic Hotline’s single series. The double single sees contributions from Sylvan Esso members and Psychic Hotline co-founders Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn.
Hand Habits, the project of Los Angeles-based musician Meg Duffy, co-wrote “Greatest Weapon” with Ethan Gruska. Duffy, who stated the song is about “coming to grips with the dance of time,” recorded “Greatest Weapon” at Gruska’s home studio in L.A. with Meath and Sanborn adding backing vocals.
Additionally, Duffy’s longtime friend Amelia Meath sings lead vocals on “Under The Water.” Meath also penned the song sharing, “I wrote it all in one go – learning how to hold my head underwater when I was a kid was a moment of independence that I hadn’t been expecting – all of the sudden I was able to be completely alone in the pool – even when I was surrounded by people.”
