Hardly Strictly Bluegrass organizers detailed the free music festival’s full 2022 lineup. The three-day event returns to Golden Gate Park in San Francisco from September 30 through October 2 after two years held virtually due to the pandemic.
This year’s Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival starts on Friday, September 30 with performances from Allison Russell, Charley Crockett, Drive-By Truckers, Joy Oladokun and others. Steve Earle & The Dukes, Waxahatchee, Bonny Light Horseman, Elvis Costello and The Travelin’ McCourys are among those playing Golden Gate Park on Saturday, October 1. Plus, Jerry Harrison and Adrian Belew will present a Remain In Light tribute, while Buddy Miller’s Cavalcade Of Stars will feature Kelsey Waldon, Jim Lauderdale, Larry Campbell and Teresa Williams on the 1st.
Emmylou Harris returns to Hardly Strictly Bluegrass as part of a lineup for Sunday, October 2 that also includes Béla Fleck, Lucius, Marcus Mumford, Galactic, Aoife O’Donovan and many more. A special set dubbed “Fare Thee Well” will celebrate the songs of those who have recently passed away such as John Prine, Nancy Bechtle and Justin Townes Earle on the final day of the festival.
