Members Of moe. & Aqueous To Reunite moe.queous For Halloween Weekend Show In Buffalo

51

Five years after the group’s debut at Brooklyn Comes Alive, members of moe. and Aqueous will reunite for the second-ever moe.queous performance. The one-off concert will occur on October 29th at Town Ballroom in the bands’ shared hometown of Buffalo, NY.

moe.queous is guitarist Al Schnier and drummer Vinnie Amico of moe. alongside guitarist Mike Gantzer, bassist Evan McPhaden, and drummer Rob Houk of Aqueous. The band’s inaugural performance back on September 24th, 2017 at Brooklyn Bowl also featured guitarist/keyboardist Dave Loss, who will sit out this show as he spends time with his newborn son while Aqueous takes the rest of 2022 off from touring.

“It’s a cool full circle thing to intertwine the AQ and moe. worlds so directly—both bands have history at Town Ballroom and share strong roots being from Buffalo, too,” Gantzer said. “There’s something really connective about that, and I’ve always felt a unique kinship and chemistry when making music or even just hanging with those guys. Much of AQ’s early inspiration came from seeing moe. too, so that should tell you just how truly special this will be! Let’s go, Buffalo!”

moe. is also performing sparingly on the road as guitarist Chuck Garvey continues his recovery from a stroke suffered last November. The band has played a handful of shows this summer, including three nights at its own Summer Camp Music Festival, with the assistance of keyboardist Nate Wilson (Percy Hill) and guitarist Suke Cerulo (Schleigho).

“We love our boys in AQ almost as much as we love Buffalo!” Schnier said. “Last time we all got together for a moe.queous throw down, it was such an awesome amalgamation of our two bands, and we knew it was something we should definitely do more often. And this time it’s perfect—in Buffalo, Halloween weekend, Bills vs. Packers, Town Ballroom! It doesn’t get much better than this (unless of course, Josh Allen is sitting in).”

Tickets for moe.queous at Town Ballroom in Buffalo on October 29th are on sale now.

Carrying on the tradition of new projects debuting at Brooklyn Comes Alive, former Turkuaz members Craig Brodhead (guitar/keys), Chris Brouwers (trumpet/keys), Michelangelo Carubba (drums), Shira Elias (vocals), Sammi Garett (vocals), Greg Sanderson (tenor sax), and Josh Schwartz (baritone sax/vocals) will unveil their new band Cool Cool Cool at Brooklyn Comes Alive on September 17th. Live For Live Music‘s long-running event will return to the Brooklyn Mirage for a daylong musical marathon with additional performances from STS9Medeski Martin & Wood, and Lettuce [get tickets].
