The world’s most famous secret agent has been known to sip on a fine dram or two, so what better way to mark sixty years of iconic adventures with an iconic set of spirits? Famed Scotch whisky maker The Macallan just debuted the perfect tribute to James Bond in the form of The Macallan James Bond 60th Anniversary Release.
The exclusive offering showcases The Macallan’s single malt Scotch in six limited-edition sets, each one featuring unique designs, colors and inspiration nodding to 007 across six decades.
Bond himself, described by The Macallan as “the very definition of a man of the world,” has enjoyed The Macallan onscreen (notably sipping on The Macallan Fine and Rare 1962 in 2012’s Skyfall).
Bond’s Scottish roots are also celebrated in the film, including a tense and exciting return to the Bond family’s Skyfall estate. In describing the release, The Macallan noted that James Bond is a “force of nature defined by his Scottish heritage.”
The Scotch itself is every bit as refined and full of character as 007, boasting a natural Suisse gold color and a precise ABV of 43.7 percent in yet another nod to Bond, James Bond.
The exclusive and eye-catching packaging found on each of the six editions is also meant to bring Scotch and movie enthusiasts into the world of Bond, with The Macallan calling the launch a “behind the scenes exploration” of the secret agent’s globetrotting adventures.
The Scotch itself contained within the visually appealing presentation is as multi-faceted as Bond himself, building from notes of orange zest and fizzy sherbet into ginger spice and dark chocolate, among others.
As luck would have it, the release will be available at a very fitting price point — $1,007 — with limited availability worldwide (and a U.S. release set for February 2023).
Like the hard-to-catch MI6 spy himself, you’ll have to move quickly to secure a piece of James Bond history.
