Fruition Trio Previews Upcoming Tour With Stunning ‘Paste Studio On The Road’ Session

Fruition displayed their trio format with a four-song session for the Paste Studio On The Road video series. The set featuring Jay Cobb Anderson, Mimi Naja and Kellen Asebroek was livestreamed from the Rebels & Renegades Music Festival in Monterey, California on Sunday.

Anderson, Naja and Asebroek will hit the road for Fruition Trio dates in November and December. The 25-minute performance gave a taste of what fans can expect at the special trio concerts.

The three-piece showed off majestic harmonies in covering Dan Reeder’s “Born A Worm” to begin the session. Jay Cobb Anderson and Mimi Naja spoke about the Oh Boy Records artist’s “unique sense of humor” and how Reeder was signed by John Prine after performing the cover. Fruition Trio then looked to 2018’s Watching It All Fall Apart for “Eraser” before Naja led Anderson and Asebroek on the title track from 2020’s Wild As The Night.

“I’m excited for this trio tour situation,” Mimi Naja exclaimed after “Wild As The Night.” The three musicians then discussed how Jimi Hendrix set his guitar on fire at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967 just 10 feet from where the session was filmed. For their finale, the Fruition Trio performed “The Price Of Sound Advice,” a new song penned by Jay Cobb Anderson.
