Relix has shared new pro-shot videos from Phil Lesh & Friends‘ performance at The Capitol Theatre on Saturday, October 15th. The show was the second night of a three-show run featuring a lineup of John Scofield, Eric Krasno, Karl Denson, Grahame Lesh, Mikaela Davis, Steve Molitz, and Alex Koford.
Saturday’s setlist had no surprises, leaning instead on familiar staples from the Grateful Dead canon. “Alabama Getaway” got things moving early along with “Friend of the Devil”, followed by the more laid-back “They Love Each Other” and “Loser”. Mikaela Davis took the lead on “Bird Song”, which led directly into “Jack Straw” to close the first set.
Set two was comprised of Phil favorites starting with his composition “Box of Rain”, which gave way to an unbroken chain of “Help on the Way”, “Slipknot!”, “Let It Grow”, and “Unbroken Chain”. An emotional “Stella Blue” transitioned into a bubbly “Franklin’s Tower” to close the set before Phil delivered his famous organ donor rap (Thank you, Cody!).

Phil Lesh is slated to play two more three-show runs at The Cap with two different lineups. This weekend—October 21st–23rd—he will be joined by Rick Mitarotonda (Goose), Grahame Lesh, James Casey (Trey Anastasio Band), Natalie Cressman (Trey Anastasio Band), Jennifer Hartswick (Trey Anastasio Band), John Medeski, and John Molo. Then next weekend—October 28th–31st—he will welcome Duane Betts, Eric Krasno, Grahame Lesh, Nicki Bluhm, Jason Crosby, and Tony Leone.
