Pigeons Playing Ping Pong will work the music of The Who and Foo Fighters into the mix for their upcoming Halloween Weekend concerts. The band revealed “The Who Fighters” theme for shows in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania on October 28 and New Haven, Connecticut on October 29.
“We’re massive fans of The Who and Foo Fighters and can’t wait to funkify their catalogs in classic PPPP Halloween style next weekend!” stated Pigeons in announcing this year’s theme. The Baltimore-based quintet typically mashes up originals with songs from artists named in the theme during Halloween Weekend performances.
PPPP went with “Daft Side Of The Moon” for their 2021 theme. Previous themes have included “Stop Making Cake,” “Flockbuster,” “Dead Zeppelin” and “Red Hot Sergeant Peppers. The group honored late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins on April 1 shortly after his tragic death by covering “Learn To Fly” instrumentally and playing a bit of “My Hero” in Boston.
