Sam Bush released a new single, “Radio John.” The song is set for Bush’s upcoming album, Radio John: Songs of John Hartford, due out on November 11 via Smithsonian Folkways Recordings.
Bush announced Radio John: Songs of John Hartford in September and also shared his take on the beloved Hartford song, “In Tall Buildings.” While the album is comprised of some of Sam’s favorite Hartford tunes, “Radio John,” is the sole original on the record.
Bush co-wrote “Radio John” with John Pennell. While Sam played every instrument on the tribute to his late collaborator and mentor, album closer “Radio John,” along with being the sole original, boasts the record’s lone full-band performance.
