SunSquabi Releases ‘Middle Of the Night (Panther)’ Single Featuring Iya Terra

Colorado-based livetronica trio SunSquabi teamed up with Iya Terra on the new single “Middle Of The Night (Panther).” The bombastic collaboration appears on SunSquabi’s forthcoming studio album, Arise.

The 11-track Arise arrives on October 26. SunSquabi — which consists of Kevin Donohue (guitar, keys, production), Josh Fairman (bass, synth) and Chris Anderson (drums) — previously previewed the album with singles “Elephant Song” featuring Dominic Lalli, “Scorpion” and “The Hornet.”

“Middle Of The Night (Panther)” shows off a different side of Arise as SunSquabi and Iya Terra mix reggae, electronica and Pink Floyd-esque rock to perfection. “‘Panther’ was the original name of the song, representing the stealth and wisdom of an apex predator in darkness,” explained Donohue. “When Nathan Aurora (Iya Terra) listened to it, the inspiration of the panther allowed him to create a narrative around it that also reflects what a good part of the world has experienced over the last few years. Overcoming loneliness, exploring the darkness and celebrating unity.” SunSquabi self-produced the track mastered by Chris Gehringer of Sterling Sound NJ.

SunSquabi tapped Cale Potts to create an animated music video for the fourth and final pre-release Arise single. Watch the “Middle Of The Night (Panther)” visual below:
