Umphrey’s McGee will celebrate their 25th anniversary on their newly confirmed Winter Tour 2023. The band announced close to 30 new tour dates spanning January to March.
Umphrey’s McGee played their first concert on January 21, 1998, at Bridget McGuire’s Filling Station in South Bend, Indiana, where they formed while members attended the University of Notre Dame. The band will perform the second of two shows at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York on January 21, 2023. That night will begin with an umVIP pre-party at Garcia’s featuring a private performance by Hartliss (UM’s Brendan Bayliss and Trey Anastasio Band’s Jennifer Hartswick).
Prior to The Cap shows, UM will kick off the tour on January 12 and 13 in Washington D.C. The group then heads to Philadelphia on January 14 and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on January 15 with Neighbor on board as support. Brooklyn Bowl hosts the band on January 19 ahead of the aforementioned two-nighter at The Cap on January 20 and 21.
The tour resumes in the Midwest on January 26 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Two shows in Michigan follow with stops in Grand Rapids on January 27 and in Detroit on January 28. UM bassist Ryan Stasik’s Doom Flamingo will open those three shows. The month ends in Cleveland with a gig on January 29.
The Madison, Wisconsin honorary citizens return to the state capitol on February 2. Two shows in Minneapolis follow on February 3 and 4. The tour then detours for the band to perform aboard Jam Cruise 19. Back on shore, the tour starts back up on the West Coast with three shows in California, starting with Sacramento on February 22, then on to Petaluma on February 23 and Anaheim on February 24. Las Vegas will see the band’s return on February 25.
Oregon hosts UM on March 2 in Bend, on March 3 in Eugene and on March 5 in Portland. Between Eugene and Portland, UM heads up to Seattle for a concert on March 4. Finally, the tour is currently set to conclude with three shows in Aspen, Colorado on March 10, 11 and 12.
