Blur will reunite to play London’s Wembley Stadium on July 8, 2023. The band’s upcoming debut concert at Wembley marks their first headlining performance since 2015 and is expected to be their lone 2023 show in the UK.
slowthai, Self Esteem and Jockstrap will open for Blur in London next summer. The band consisting of Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree will perform songs from their extensive catalogue. “We really love playing these songs and thought it’s about time we did it again,” Albarn noted.
“I’m really looking forward to playing with my blur brothers again and revisiting all those great songs… blur live shows are always amazing for me,” added Coxon. “A nice guitar and an amp turned right up and loads of smiling faces…”
Blur formed in 1988. The band took extensive hiatuses from 2004 – 2008 and again from 2016 through today’s announcement. Albarn assembled with his bandmates on March 29, 2019 for a surprise performance at his Africa Express event in London.
