Fruit Bats Unveil Groovy New Song ‘Waking Up In Los Angeles’ & Confirm Spring Tour 2023

31

Fruit Bats, the project helmed by Eric D. Johnson, returns today with the shimmering new studio cut “Waking Up In Los Angeles.” The catchy song arrived with news of a lengthy Spring 2023 tour featuring stops across the U.S. and Canada.

“This is a sad song masquerading as a happy one,” Johnson explained of the first new Fruit Bats track since the release of “Rips Me Up” in October of 2021. “Or maybe vice versa? This might be the first song I’ve written where the first verse is a disclaimer – and, yes, I am talking to YOU with this one. This is about spiritual homes, the geography of the heart, and waking up in a weird, hard world where the birds still sing.”

Dates in Denver, Salt Lake City, Bozeman (Montana), Boise (Idaho), Portland (Oregon), Seattle and Vancouver bring the run to an end.
