Tank and the Bangas teamed with hip-hop duo EarthGang to remix “Communion In My Cup,” a track featured on their 2022 LP, Red Balloon. The whimsical remix comes as Tank And The Bangas prepare to launch a guest-filled residency at New York City’s Blue Note this Friday, November 11.
Red Balloon, the band’s third studio album, features 16 tracks recorded during sessions held in their hometown of New Orleans and in Los Angeles. Alex Isley, Masego, Questlove, Lalah Hathaway, Big Freedia, Jacob Collier, Trombone Shorty and Wayne Brady were among those who contributed to the LP.
“We were so excited to collab with EARTHGANG who we’re fans of and feel creatively connected with,” explained frontwoman Tarriona “Tank” Ball in a statement. “EARTHGANG brings a new edge to ‘Communion In My Cup,’ one that we know you’ll connect with.”
