The Wood Brothers Expand 2023 Tour Into Spring

Americana act The Wood Brothers added 20 new dates to their 2023 touring plans. The trio consisting of Oliver Wood, Chris Wood and Jano Rix expect to tour extensively next year in support of a new album, Heart Is The Hero, due out next spring.

The newly confirmed late-winter and spring dates follow a previously announced West Coast run. Oliver, Chris and Jano — who will reveal full details of Heart Is The Hero in February 2023 — will play Simmons Bank Arena in North Little Rock, Arkansas with The Avett Brothers and Turnpike Troubadours on February 24.

Following a week off, The Wood Brothers kick off a headlining run in Lexington, Kentucky on March 1. The leg also includes stops in Detroit (March 2); Buffalo (March 3); Ithaca, New York (March 4); Westerly, Rhode Island (March 6); Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (March 8); Rocky Mount, Virginia (March 9); Winston-Salem, North Carolina (March 10) and Chattanooga, Tennessee (March 11).

The tour rolls on a month later in Scottsdale, Arizona on April 11. Additional April dates are slated for Flagstaff, Arizona (April 12); Beaver Creek, Colorado (April 14); Denver (April 15); Salina, Kansas (April 17); Fayetteville, Arkansas (April 18); Tulsa, Oklahoma (April 20); Tilmon, Texas (April 21) and Houston (April 22). As reported, The Wood Brothers will play the indoor space at Chicago’s The Salt Shed on May 11. Shovels & Rope opens in Chicago.

“As a young man touring felt like an indulgent adventure: seeing new places, eating local foods, enjoying the applause and joining the party,” noted Oliver Wood. “As I get older, however, it’s become more of a mission to connect with people and make them happy. We’re so grateful that our songs have found a special place in people’s lives. For all of us, band and audience, to share in a heartfelt human experience together is much needed in these times.”

Tickets for the 20 new shows go on sale this Friday, November 18 at 10 a.m. local time.
