Trey Anastasio Band & Goose Kick Off Highly Anticipated Tour In Portland, Maine: Review, Setlists & Videos
Each of the four shows played thus far on the TABoose Tour has ended with both full bands on the stage for a Phish tune. In Lowell, the 13 musicians united on a “Blaze On” that culminated with a drum jam as each artist grabbed a percussive instrument and paraded around the stage accompanied by the TAB Horns. Penned by Anastasio and Tom Marshall, “Blaze On” was debuted by Phish on July 21, 2015 in Bend, Oregon. The song joined the TAB repertoire in 2019 after a number of Trey Anastasio Trio performances the previous year.
The Lowell “Blaze On” featured Goose’s Rick Mitarotonda on guitar, Peter Anspach on keys and Ben Atkind, Jeff Arevalo and Trevor Weekz on percussion. Trumpeter Jennifer Hartswick took a fierce solo to start the jam before saxophonist James Casey uncorked a flurry of melodies and engaged with Anastasio in call-and-response. Mitarotonda then shredded a solo of his own and went on to lock in with Trey on a duel. Cyro Baptista led the ensuing parade to the backstage area.
