Bootsy Collins released a holiday single and video, “Boot-A-Claus/Here 4-A-Reason.” The festive track from the legendary funk bassist features collaborators Fantaazma, Baby Triggy, Gary “G7” Jenkins and Dreion.
The holiday single comes on the heels of Bootsy announcing his highly collaborative Funk Not Fight project, which aims to “promote peace, reduce violence and unrest in disproportionately affected communities, and spread joy through the power of music,” as per a press release. The new cut, “Boot-A-Claus/Here 4-A-Reason,” is a continuation of the Funk Not Fight mesaage.
“We call this A-Boot-A-Claus Christmas Celebration,” Bootsy said. “We look at this as being the Power of the One. No Matter what or who you believe in we come together as 1.”
