Keyboardist Holly Bowling Announces Departure From Ghost Light

32

Keyboardist Holly Bowling has revealed that she will leave Ghost Light at the end of 2022. The band’s keyboardist since its inception in 2017 will deliver her final performance with the group on December 29th at the Ogden Theatre in Denver, CO.

“I’m proud of what we’ve built and love the music we’ve made together over the past five years,” Bowling wrote on social media. “That said, there’s far more to being in a band than the time on stage playing together each night. … I’m grateful for the time we’ve spent together and what we’ve created. I will miss playing with my bandmates in Ghost Light deeply and I have no doubt the four of them will continue to create incredible music together. I wish them all the best in whatever form that takes in the future.”

Bowling still has nine shows left with Ghost Light before she leaves the band, with stops in Washington, Oregon, Nevada, and California ahead of the final date in Denver. The announcement did not name a replacement.

“I’m very excited to have one last tour to play these songs and leave it all out on the stage for the people who have made this band what it is today and supported us over the last five years,” she concluded. “These shows feel special knowing that they’re the last ones the five of us will play together and I wanted to make sure anyone who wants to join us for a show one last time has the chance. I can’t wait to do this one final run for you all and hope to see you out there this month.”

This signals the latest lineup change for Ghost Light, who back in March picked up former Turkuaz bassist Taylor Shell. Taking the place of former bassist Dan Africano—who has since moved on to Thievery Corporation—Shell joined the existing lineup of Tom Hamilton and Raina Mullen on guitar and vocals and Scott Zwang on drums.
