Mixing It Up: Greensky Bluegrass Enlists 6 Different Acts To Open On Winter Tour 2023

28

Greensky Bluegrass typically drafts one band to open all or most shows on their winter tours with Circles Around The Sun, The Infamous Stringdusters, Billy Strings and Horseshoes & Hand Grenades among those who filled the support role over the past decade. However, the band will take a different approach for their upcoming 2023 Winter Tour as six acts will take turns kicking off the action during the 16-date run.

“Traditionally, we have carried the same support band with us for entire tours, but this winter we are changing that model for the sake of mixing it up,” explained GSBG dobroist Anders Beck. “There are so many great bands out there to share the road with and jam with… and for me the most exciting thing about this winter is all the different collaborations we will get to have on stage.”

Mikaela Davis supports on opening night in Buffalo on January 12 with Neighbor (January 13) and Mihali (January 14) starting shows at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York. Davis is back to open in Utica, New York on January 14 before Neighbor supports again in Red Bank, New Jersey on January 18 and Boston on January 20. GSBG will present “An Evening With” sans support in Burlington, Vermont on January 19.

Support for Philly on January 21 is to be announced. Then, Daniel Donato opens for Greensky in Cleveland on January 25, Pittsburgh on January 26 and at the second night in Washington D.C. on January 28. Railroad Earth takes the stage pre-GSBG on the first night in Washington D.C. on January 27. Finally, old pal Holly Bowling will be the quintet’s special guest in Columbus on February 1, St. Louis on February 2 and Chicago on February 3 and 4.
