For their second “Hanukkah Sessions” video of 2022, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and producer/musician Greg Kurstin are joined by P!NK. The pop star belted out her 2001 smash “Get The Party Started” during a star-studded show that took place at Los Angeles’ Largo on December 5 which yielded the eight videos featured in the 2022 edition of the video series.
“Get The Party Started” celebrates the second night of Hanukkah following a cover of Blood, Sweat & Tears’ “Spinning Wheel” sung by Judd Apatow that launched this year’s installment. “The Hanukkah Sessions” was started by Grohl and Kurstin in 2020 and continued last year. A new video is put out for each of the holiday’s eight nights featuring covers of songs by Jewish artists. Videos for the first two “Hanukkah Sessions” series were filmed in the studio.
“My name’s Alicia. I’m a Jew,” the artist born Alecia Beth Moore reportedly told the crowd before starting the song. P!nk had a few lyrical mishaps on “Get The Party Started” at Largo but her energy more than made up for any miscues. Grohl played drums on the tune which featured Kurstin on keys and backing vocals from Tenacious D‘s Jack Black. “Get The Party Started” by watching the performance from Largo below:
