Goose swung by 30 Rock on Wednesday for their first appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The Pride of the Nutmeg State performed “Dripfield,” the title track from their 2022 full-length studio album.
Produced and engineered by D. James Goodwin, Dripfield arrived on June 24. “Dripfield” was debuted at Goosemas this past February at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. The show originally scheduled for December 2021 but postponed due to COVID followed a livestreamed 2020 installment of the annual holiday concert held near 30 Rock on a Rockefeller Center rooftop.
Goose made use of a truncated rig which still had some bells and whistles including percussionist Jeff Arevalo‘s gong and two keyboards Peter Anspach barely touched as he instead focused on rhythm guitar. Rick Mitarotonda poured emotion into his lyrical delivery and connected with Anspach on a few dual leads and wah’d out patterns as the rhythm section of bassist Trevor Weekz and drummer Ben Atkind provided a strong base underneath it all.
The five-piece kept the song to a concise four-minutes and 37-seconds. Anspach represented his favorite baseball team by wearing a Mets t-shirt. Fans were well represented in the audience as shouts of “Gooooose” greeted the band. Watch Goose perform “Dripfield” on Wednesday’s Fallon below:
Goose, who appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live last month, head to Colorado for next weekend’s Goosemas concerts. Livestreams are available via nugs.net. The band recently announced an extensive spring tour. Tickets on sale this Friday, December 9 at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.
