Watch Susan Tedeschi & Derek Trucks Perform Intimate Acoustic ‘I Can Feel You Smiling’ Duet

Tedeschi Trucks Band shared video of an acoustic performance of guitarist Derek Trucks and vocalist Susan Tedeschi on “I Can Feel You Smiling.” The clip was captured during the husband and wife duo’s Fireside Sessions at their Jacksonville, Florida studio.

“I Can Feel You Smiling” would eventually land on TTB’s 2022 release I Am The Moon IV: Farewell, the finale of their ambitious four-part I Am The Moon recording and film project. In the new “I Can Feel You Smiling” video, Trucks noted that it started as an instrumental piece he then sent to collaborator Oliver Wood of The Wood Brothers.

Captured over a year before I Am The Moon arrived, Derek noted at the outset of the “I Can Feel You Smiling” video, “This may be on the record.” “I think it will,” Susan added. “It’s a beautiful song.”
