Apple TV+ series Carpool Karaoke launched its fifth season today with Wilco among those featured. A preview of the episode in which Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy, John Stirratt and Glenn Kotche drive around Chicago with comedian and superfan Nikki Glaser has been shared and can be viewed below.
Ciara, Method Man, Duran Duran, The Bacon Brothers and Zooey Deschanel are among other musicians starring in Season 5 Carpool Karaoke episodes. There’s also an installment with Hillary and Chelsea Clinton. Mavis Staples makes an appearance in the 19-minute episode featuring Wilco and Nikki Glaser.

Wilco Greets Ghostly Figures In ‘A Lifetime To Find’ Video
“The iconic Chicago band goes on an adventure with megafan Nikki, featuring a cameo by the great Mavis Staples and a Ferris Bueller homage,” reads a description of Episode 9. “They are objectively one of the best rock bands of all time. This isn’t up for debate,” Glaser told Billboard about Wilco. “Their music has an emotional depth that I haven’t really found in any other male artists.”
“I am first and foremost a depressed girl and I think Jeff Tweedy might be, too,” the comedian added. “But he’s also a good person who sees and wants what’s good for the world and others and that comes through in the music… Their music always leaves me with hope, no matter how bleak the song might be.”
“I think the only reason might be because Nikki’s a fan,” Tweedy said of Wilco’s inclusion on Carpool Karaoke. “She gave them a list and we were on the top of it and I thought it was fun and I like Nikki and thought it would be a fun day.”
