At least ten people were shot in an incident during a French Montana video shoot outside Miami Gardens, FL restaurant The Licking on Thursday night, according to statements from Miami Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) and the restaurant.
According to MDFR, emergency units were dispatched just before 8 p.m. ET after they received reports of a mass casualty incident. “Upon arrival,” emergency officials said, “fire units found several patients suffering traumatic injuries. In addition to finding injured patients at the initial location, firefighters also encountered other injured patients outside of a fire station nearby.”
MDFR added that “fire crews immediately began triage to assess the extent of the patients’ injuries and for transport to the hospital.” As a result of the incident, they said, “a total of 10 patients were injured. Four of the patients self-transported to local area hospitals. MDFR transported the remaining 6 patients by ground and air rescue to local trauma centers.”
Witness Ced Mogul, who came out to watch the video shoot, told local news outlet WSVN 7News that he heard “at least 13, 14, 15 gunshots. It was very rapid, it sounded like an assault rifle. … I took off running, and I was looking back, but I was like, ‘You know what? Let me just duck first, and then people started asking me, you know, ‘Can you help me?’ When I realized people were asking for help, there was nothing you could do about it when you got shot.”

Authorities have yet to offer information regarding the identities of the shooting victims, although various accounts have indicated that French Montana was not injured. Various accounts of the incident note that rising New Orleans rapper Rob49 was also involved in the video shoot and was among the victims of the attack. 7News sources said one of the victims is listed in critical condition, but the other patients’ conditions are unknown.
“Our hearts are heavy and go out to the victims of this senseless act,” read a statement to CNN from The Licking, a restaurant group owned by DJ Khaled with multiple locations. “We were not aware of a video being filmed and found out last [minute] French Montana was shooting a scene in the back parking lot. We have no idea what actually took place.
