50 Cent has announced that he is adapting Eminem‘s 2002 film 8 Mile into a television series. The rapper and actor made the announcement on the January 6th episode of Big Boy TV, saying that the project is already “in motion” and that Eminem is involved.

“I’m gonna bring his 8 Mile to television,” 50 Cent said, adding that the show is “gonna be big. I ain’t got no duds.”

50 Cent also said that he plans to adapt the story of Snoop Dogg into a series, Murder Was the Case, named after a song off Snoop’s 1993 album, Doggystyle. He compared it to the recent reboot of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and the dramatized series The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story.

“I’ma do Snoop’s story too,” he said. “We paused on it because of Starz. I was having issues with them over there at the time. So I paused on Murder Was the Case, but I think Snoop is—if the O.J. trial works, why wouldn’t Murder Was the Case work at this point?”

In addition to signing him to his Shady Records imprint in 2002, Eminem has worked with 50 Cent on television projects before, making a cameo as White Boy Rick on the 50-produced series BMF in 2021. The two also performed together at the 2022 Super Bowl Halftime Show along with Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, and Mary J. Blige.
