Club d’Elf first took the stage in February 1998 at the Lounge Lizard in Cambridge, Massachusetts, a room that has served as the improvisational ensemble’s “home venue” ever since. The band will return to the Lizard Lounge next month as part of a 25th Anniversary Tour confirmed today.
Bandleader Mike Rivard will be joined by a variety of musicians over the course of the run. Special guests for select shows include John Medeski (Medeski Martin & Wood), Rob Compa (Dopapod), Lyle Brewer (Neighbor) and Reeves Gabrels.
Club d’Elf starts celebrating the anniversary with a concert at The Stone Church in Newmarket, New Hampshire on January 13. It’s then off to Colorado for shows in Denver on February 3 and Crested Butte on February 4. The rest of the month is devoted to a Northeast swing featuring stops in Fall River, Massachusetts (February 10); Stowe, Vermont (February 11); New York City (February 15); Providence (February 16); Cambridge, Massachusetts (February 17); Burlington, Vermont (February 18); Bridgeport, Connecticut (February 23); Northampton, Massachusetts (February 24) and Portsmouth, New Hampshire (February 25).
After a few weeks off, the group will play The Falcon in Marlboro, New York on March 10. Tickets are on sale now via various outlets. Additionally, Club d’Elf honored the occasion by issuing their long-out-of-print first album, 2000’s As Above, on digital platforms. Stream/purchase the 20-track live set via Bandcamp below:
