Dave Matthews Band will release their long-awaited 10th studio album, Walk Around The Moon, on May 19. Today, the septet unveiled the LP’s lead single, “Madman’s Eyes,” and revealed their 2023 Summer Tour dates.
Walk Around The Moon marks DMB’s first studio album since 2018’s Come Tomorrow. The group tapped longtime collaborator John Alagia to serve as executive producer for the set mainly recorded with producer Rob Evans. Half of Walk Around The Moon’s 12 tracks have been road-tested over the past few years as the album “took shape during the pandemic and is as much a reflection on the current times as it is an urge to find common ground,” as per press materials.
Dave Matthews Band’s summer tour includes stops at many familiar venues for the band along with their debut performances at New York City’s Forest Hills Stadium and Highland, California’s Yaamava’ Resort & Casino. The U.S. portion of the run starts in The Woodlands, Texas on May 19 after three dates in Mexico.
The seven-piece heads to Dallas on May 20 following the stop in The Woodlands. It’s then off to Rogers (Arkansas), Southaven (Mississippi), Nashville and Cincinnati ahead of two-night stands in Wilmington, North Carolina on May 30 and 31 and Charleston, South Carolina on June 2 and 3. Next comes the group’s Forest Hills Stadium debut on June 9.
Dave Matthews Band continues the extensive trek in Hartford on June 10. From there the band hits Darien, New York (June 14); Bangor, Maine (June 16); Mansfield, Massachusetts (June 17); Burgettstown, Pennsylvania (June 23); Columbia, Maryland (June 24); Clarkston, Michigan (June 27) and Milwaukee (June 29) before a two-night engagement in Noblesville, Indiana (June 30 & July 1). Additional multi-night runs follow in Chicago (July 7 & 8); Gilford, New Hampshire (July 11 & 12); Saratoga Springs, New York (July 14 & 15); Camden, New Jersey (July 21 & 22) and West Palm Beach, Florida (July 28 & 29) along with shows in Holmdel, New Jersey (July 18); Wantagh, New York (July 19); Alpharetta, Georgia (July 25) and Orange Beach, Alabama (July 26).
After three weeks off, the tour resumes in California with stops in Highland (August 24) and Irvine (August 25 & 26). A concert in Bend, Oregon (August 29) leads into Dave Matthews Band’s traditional Labor Day Weekend three-night stand at The Gorge in Washington state (September 1 – 3).
